Kerrang: 1 2 3 4 5

September 12th, 2007

Hi all! Just a few announcements....

1. HAPPY (belated) BIRTHDAY MIKEY!

2. The new wallpaper is up (downloads> wallpaper) but there's no calendar this time becase well, there are no tour dates.

3. I'm still looking for people to submit stories or reviews of shows they went to..,.see the Reviews section (the fans>reviews) for more info!

September 6th, 2007

Well, well. Summer's over, I hope everyone had a good one.

As I said in the last update, there really hasn't been much MCR-related news, aside from the frequent discussions over who's dating who, who's on what drugs, etc. If you care to read up on all that, I suggest you go elsewhere.
All I will say on the subject is that it appears that Gerard Way has indeed gotten married to girlfriend Lyn-z. Pictures from the "ceremony" can be found here: 1 2

I wish them well, and I hope it works out :)

Now...as I said, not much seems to have happened besides the usual Projekt Rev shenanigans, but the lovely Danai, in my absence, has managed to find us some actual news.

New tour dates have been released- two shows in New Jersey opening for Bon Jovi, and then off once more to Europe. See the tour section for more info.

In other tour-related news, Mindless Self Indulgence is scheduled to open for MCR on a tour starting in November. See here for more info.

Here is an article that discusses the fact that MCR won't be coming out with any new matrial for a while, and will instead be taking a well-deserved break.

Here's a nice review of a Projekt Rev show.

For Umbrella Academy fans, here's an interview with artist Gabriel Bá.

And finally, here are some videos that may be of interest.

Ray's brother, Lou, plays Teenagers- 8/29/07
Mikey plays I'm Not Okay- 8/29/07
Gerard appearance on MuchMusic
Gerard on Steven's Untitled Rock Show
Frank on LA Ink

Well, that's all for now! Just a reminder that the first official issue of The Umbrella Academy comes out on September 19th, which is quickly drawing nearer and nearer! :)

(Oh, and just a note- I recently made the forum login-only to try to decrease the amount of spambots we've been getting lately. Sorry for any inconveniences this may cause!)

July 29th, 2007

I don't have time now, but I'll do a full news update at some point...to my knowledge, not much excitingness has happened recently, aside from gossipy stuff. In the meantime, here's the making of the Teenagers video:

I'm so so so so sorry for the lack of updating...I've heard that the last few months of Junior year are the worst, so after the next few weeks, things should get alot better, hopefully. I'll start off with the most important pieces of information....

1. The Teenagers video is now out! Click here to watch, or go to our video section.

2. It's official...Gerard is engaged! Click here for some vague details. They won't say to whom he is getting married, but we all know it's Eliza...

May 2nd, 2007

So, as you may have heard, things aren't going so well in the My Chem camp....posted yesterday on the official site:

MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE AND MUSE FORCED TO CANCEL SHOWS ON CURRENT TOUR DUE TO SERIOUS ILLNESS FROM FOOD POISONING
My Chemical Romance and support act Muse deeply regret that they have had to cancel several dates on their current tour due to members of My Chemical Romance band and crew and members of Muse's crew being struck with serious food poisoning.
The nationwide tour, supporting My Chemical Romance's platinum album The Black Parade and Muse's album, Black Holes and Revelations, was brought to a standstill on Sunday when several members of My Chemical Romance's band and crew and members of Muse's crew became violently ill after the show at William and Mary College in Williamsburg, VA. With multiple people scattered in hospitals between State College, PA and Columbus, OH, the bands were forced to cancel Sunday night's show at the Bryce Jordan Center in State College, PA and postpone the show in Columbus, OH from Tuesday, May 1st to Wednesday, May 2nd, provided everyone has recovered. The show originally scheduled for tomorrow night at the Petersen Events Center in Pittsburgh, PA has been cancelled.
My Chemical Romance and Muse would like their fans to know that they hope to resume the tour as soon as possible. Tickets for the April 29th Bryce Jordan and May 2nd Pittsburgh show will be refunded at point of purchase and My Chemical Romance hope to make it back there before the end of the year.

In addition to this, Gerard apparently cracked a rib a few days earlier...read more here.

These boys really are unlucky, aren't they?...let's just hope that they all recover ASAP!

April 21st, 2007

Oki doke...fianally updating. I guess I'll start with the more recent news, and move backwards towards the older news that you probably don't care about anymore but I'm putting here for archiving purposes. Kay? Kay.

As you've hopefully heard by now, Mikey got married last month, and is now going on his Honeymoon. Gerard posted this message on the official MCR site:

Hey Guys,
We like to keep all of you in the loop because although you are fans we see you as our friends...
I'm very proud to announce my brother's recent marriage. Watching him grow up into a man and finding love makes me the happiest brother alive.
In light of this joyous event, the band has decided to give he and his wife a much needed break from the road to start a life and have a proper honeymoon and do all of the things a newlywed couple should do.
I know this is upsetting news, as it is for us, but we will continue to tour with a temporary replacement until he has situated himself in his new life.
We thank all of your for your love and support, and know you are all as happy for him as we are.
See you on the road,
Gerard

Wow, it's been almost a month since I've updated...I'm so sorry! I've been uber-busy, and I promise there'll be a huge news update sometime in the next few days! A very happy belated 30th birthday to Mr. Gerard Way, pity I couldn't get that out on time...So yeah... Just letting you all know that I'm still alive and haven't forgotten about you!

March 10th, 2007

Let's start off with the excitingness...I Don't Love you, the new UK single, has just been released as a music video. Watch it HERE! Here are some great screencaps.

Here is some very interesting MCR tour news, taken from the MCRmy:

- The Projekt Revolution Tour is confirmed! (John helped introduce the bands and put it all together) Lineup: Linkin Park, MCR, Taking Back Sunday, and The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus.
- Bamboozle will be My Chem's first NJ show this year. That means the show at the Continental will definitely be after the festival.
- The Cure was supposed to be playing Bamboozle on Saturday, but they refused do it unless they headlined. MCR had already been booked as the headliner for that day, and the guys are extremely excited about it. Bamboozle didn't want to take that away from them. They could have moved My Chem and let The Cure headline, but Bamboozle wants that day to be special for My Chem since it's their first day home.
- MCR has been pushing to play two hours at Bamboozle, though John says they'll most likely get around an hour and 40 minutes. He also says they have something really special planned, and that it's amazing.

Here are some amazing pictures from the Detroit show.

Here are some scans from Kerrang and NME.

Here's a random video of someone in the recording studio where MCR came to visit.

On a side note, I'm planning on setting up a temporary videos page until I can get things sorted out...yup.

The latest news is that Frank is not feeling well, and hasn't been playing the last few shows....It all started with this article:
"MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE are to embark on Japan Tour 2007 from today(11/01 Wed. at Zepp TOkyo), but due to a sudden attack of illness, the guitarist Frank Iero had to return to his home; their support guitarist will come and play instead."
And slowly more articles, interviews, and people talking to the band at shows concluded that Frank had all 4 of his wisdom teeth out, plus has been having problems with his sinuses, and should be coming back for one of the next few shows, unless he gets worse again for some reason. Let's all hope he doesn't!

"GET THE VOTE OUT FOR MCR
The video for "Welcome to The Black Parade" has been on a ton of video charts lately and we're kinda overwhelmed by it all. It's even being shown on MTV's TRL - the LAST place we'd ever expect a video about death to be shown. It's kinda funny that it's on there in first place, but now that it is, it would be really nice if you can take a few seconds to vote to see it more. Just go to http://www.mtv.com/ontv/dyn/trl/voting.jhtml and vote for us. That would be nice of you.

SEE MCR FOR FREE IN VEGAS
